The firm
Founded in 2007 by Jamie Montag and Matt Morningstar — two Conestoga College engineering students who started with weekend handyman work — Caliber Contracting has grown into one of Southwestern Ontario’s most trusted premium design-build firms.
The engineering foundation still defines the work. Load paths, building science, and structural integrity are built into every decision from day one, not bolted on after. Today, a team of nine designs and builds custom homes, additions, and high-end renovations across Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Paris, and Brant County — for homeowners who value craftsmanship over the lowest price.
Caliber covers the full design-build spectrum, from new construction to careful restorations of century homes. The firm is Tarion-certified and a Records Reader’s Choice and Houzz award winner.
